Kazphosphate Mining and Processing Complex
Kazphosphate Mining and Processing Complex is a mining and processing plant that operates under Kazphosphate LLP.
The complex focuses on the extraction and processing of phosphate rock, sourced from the Kok-Su, Kok-john, and Zhanatas deposits.
Located in the Karatau basin, it enjoys several advantages due to its rich phosphate rock reserves:
- The region boasts immense reserves, primarily concentrated in a number of the largest deposits, totaling hundreds of millions of tonnes of ore. Geological estimates indicate reserves amounting to 1.58 billion tonnes of phosphate rock.
- The original ore exhibits a relatively high concentration (21-25%) of the beneficial component P₂O₅.
- Its territorial location lies within an industrially advanced and well-developed region, in close proximity to the primary cotton and beet-growing regions of Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries. These regions are major consumers of phosphate fertilisers.
Products manufactured:
- Crushed phosphate rock for thermal processing, serving as raw material for the production of yellow phosphorus, thermal phosphoric acid and its derivatives.
- Finely ground phosphate rock (phosphate rock) for extraction purposes (feedstock for MAP, DAP).
In addition, block stone is extracted for finishing works at the Toguzbay and Dongulek deposits.
